There are also rumours the SpaceX and Tesla CEO will bring back the popular app Vine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you would like to use any data sited in this poll, you must credit and link to <a href=\"https:\/\/fairbettingsites.co.uk\">https:\/\/fairbettingsites.co.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><b>41% of 25-34 year olds (millennials) say they will quit Twitter now Elon Musk has taken over<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">34% of Brits say they will also stop using the app post-takeover, equating to 6.5 million users leaving the platform within the next year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_1e3915d6-271b-45c5-8b0f-becc66e38f7b\" title=\"Twitter Age Groups\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?CMg\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">41% of 25-34 year olds say they will stop using the popular social media app now Elon Musk has become owner and CEO, replacing previous institutional investors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">34% of Brits say they will also stop using the app post-takeover, equating to 6.5 million users leaving the platform within the next year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">36% of males compared to 30% of females say they are likely to cut ties with the app.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">33% of Gen Z (16-24 year olds) surveyed also affirmed their intention to stop using Twitter.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>85% of Brits say they won&#8217;t pay \u00a36.99\/ month for Twitter blue tick verification<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">85% of Brits say they won\u2019t pay the \u00a36.99 monthly subscription fee for Twitter Blue which includes account verification, the ability to edit tweets and upload videos in 1080p HD.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_283be8d0-855e-4e86-8abf-e61a2ee98bdd\" title=\"Will people pay for blue tick\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?M9B\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">89% of 45-54 year olds have also said they will not pay the monthly charge to use Twitter Blue.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>43% of Brits say they will stop using Twitter if there is increased censorship on the social platform<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">43% of Brits surveyed said they will stop using the app if there is increased censorship, such as Twitter\u2019s suspension of far-right Brazilian politicians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_34cb5478-7f71-46b3-b0c8-05f0803b4dde\" title=\"Would you use Twitter with increased censorship\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?gkL\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">48% of 16-34 year olds say they will also stop using Twitter if increased censorship is introduced.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>49% of Brits say they are &#8216;very unlikely&#8217; to download Vine if Elon Musk brought the social media app back<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_33507b9d-2bff-40d0-b576-ad252f329b42\" title=\"Will you download vine?\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?kEx\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">49% of Brits say they are very unlikely to download Vine if Elon Musk reintroduced the social media app, following its discontinuation in 2017. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">50% of Gen Z say they would download Vine if the app was introduced, compared to 26% of men saying they are likely to download versus 12% of women.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>29% of Gen Z (16-24 year olds) say they have at least 5 social media apps on their phones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">29% of Gen Z (16-24 year olds) say they have at least five social media <a href=\"https:\/\/fairbettingsites.co.uk\/betting-apps\/\">apps on their phones<\/a>, with the likes of Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, TikTok and Reddit available to download.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Liam Solomon, data analyst at <a href=\"https:\/\/fairbettingsites.co.uk\/\">Fair Betting Sites<\/a>, commented on poll data,<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The wave of people quitting Twitter was largely due to Elon Musk\u2019s takeover and how divisive he is as a CEO.\u00a0Musk has told staff they must commit to a new \u2018hardcore\u2019 Twitter or he will fire them and has already dismissed multiple employees who questioned his strategy on the app. Negativity surrounding the social media tool has hit breaking point for key demographics.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fair Betting Sites conducted a survey of 2,010 UK adults on their thoughts and actions as Elon Musk completed his takeover of social media giant Twitter.\u00a0 Musk has introduced a new subscription service on the app called \u2018Twitter Blue\u2019 which allows users to buy a verified tick, amongst other features for $7.99 a month.
