2023<\/p>\n<p>The average Twitch channels continued to rise, jumping 5 percent after a strong start to the year, and the number of Twitch viewers also rose by 2 percent.<\/p>\n<p>More users have also been online at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>The number of peak channels on Twitch skyrocketed to 207,940, an increase of 34 percent in February.<\/p>\n<p>While the month-over-month growth is encouraging, the online streaming platform has been experiencing year-over-year declines in several key statistics.<\/p>\n<p>The average number of Twitch viewers (-11.4%) and total hours watched (-15.5%) are down people are streaming on Twitch in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The average number of Twitch channels grew by 5 percent month-over-month in February 2023, a sign that the online streaming platform is still in a healthy place.<\/p>\n<p>There were an average of 102,491 Twitch channels online last month, the highest mark since February 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The average number of Twitch channels has grown or stayed the same for five straight months.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the last time the online streaming platform saw a decline was in September 2022.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"2\"><\/a>Peak Twitch Channels skyrocket by 34 the second consecutive month, the average number of Twitch viewers increased.<\/p>\n<p>The number of active Twitch viewers continued to rise in February, jumping from 2.55 million to 2.6 million, an increase of 2 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to January 2023, the average number of Twitch viewers had dropped or stayed the same for four consecutive months.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the encouraging news, the to this time last year, the average number of Twitch viewers and the total number of hours watched has been on the decline.<\/p>\n<p>The average number of Twitch viewers dropped 11.4 percent compared to February 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the number of hours watched has dropped by 15.5 percent YoY.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"5\"><\/a>Active Twitch Channels up 19.2 percent YoY<\/h2>\n<div
