The BTTS meaning is Both Teams To Score. In this market you are betting on whether or not both teams will score, in a football match. You select ‘Yes’ if you think that there will be goals from both teams, or ‘No’ if you think that at least one team will keep a clean sheet.>

You are only betting on whether or not it will happen in normal time, which is 90 minutes plus and added time for injuries and stoppages. Any extra time that might be played, or penalties, do not count.

Both Teams To Score Markets

The example we gave above is the simplest version of BTTS betting, but there are many different varieties. Here are some of the most common that you will see.

Match Result & BTTS

BTTS and win predictions today are very popular with punters. You are betting on the result of a match, along with whether or not both teams will score. This bet is a good way to boost the odds of a team to be victorious.

You might be sure that a side will win, but not keen on their short price. If you think that the other team might grab a goal, then it’s a smart way to find some extra value. Look out for BTTS and win tips, which are given out by many betting expert pundits.

BTTS & Over / Under Markets

Another type of market that is often added to both teams to score are over/unders. With over/under betting, a limit is set and you have to predict whether there will be more goals scored in the match than that limit, or less.

So with over/under 2.5 goals, you would bet ‘Yes’ if you think that three or more goals will be scored, or ‘No’ if you think that two goals or less will be scored.

BTTS Betting in 1st / 2nd Half

In this market you are restricting your BTTS betting to one half. You can bet on whether both teams will score in the first-half or not and also do the same for the second-half.

Obviously it’s less likely that both teams will score in just one half, than over the course of a whole match. Therefore the odds for ‘Yes’ will be higher and the odds for ‘No’ much lower.

BTTS Acca

BTTS accumulators are a popular type of multiple bet. There are sometimes matches where it’s difficult to predict the result, but perhaps easier to predict whether there’s likely to be many goals or not. The football accumulator has become popular in general.

So you might make a BTTS acca featuring three or four teams where you expect both sides to score, or alternatively, you could go for a BTTS accumulator with matches where you don’t expect both of the teams to score.

Both Teams to Score Betting In Play

Sometimes it can be difficult to gauge how a match will unfold until you start watching it and can see the pattern of play. There could be lots of chances and become obvious that there will be goals from both teams.

Or if the match is very tight, with few chances created, you could become convinced that at least one side will keep a clean sheet. In such instances being able to bet on both teams to score in-play, on live betting sites while the match is taking place, is a very useful option.
