AK Bets is a new betting brand, created by punter turned bookmaker Anthony Kaminskas. Starting as an on-course bookie, they launched online in 2023. Their tagline is ‘big prices, big limits’, highlighting their intention to disrupt the gambling industry, with their bettor-friendly sportsbook.
To kickstart our AK Bets review, we look at both the advantages and disadvantages of using their current service. Here are the pros and cons as we see them.
AK Bets offer a unique welcome offer that will appeal to fans of accumulator bets. Sign up with them and place an acca and they will give you a 25% bonus on any winnings, up to a maximum of £100.
Compared to other welcome bonuses from bookmakers, it’s less of a sure thing, but there’s a lot of potential value to be gained, should that first acca be successful. What’s more, the combined total odds of the accumulator are pretty short at Evens, while the wagering requirements of the bonus are extremely favourable.
All welcome offers and promotions and bonuses come with terms and conditions attached. AK Bets’ sign up deal is no exception. Here are the main points to consider of their offer.
During our AK Bets reviews process we have looked into who is eligible for their welcome offer. We found that it is open to all new players who sign up and have not previously held an account with AK Bets.
In order to access the offer, you have to first adhere to the requirements of the qualifying bet, as detailed above. Your qualifying acca will also need to be a winner, in order to receive the free bet bonus.
The terms and conditions state that the promo code can only be used once per household or IP address. So if you take advantage of their offer, your partner, family members or housemates, will not be able to also sign up for the welcome bonus.
Of course, any new sign ups at AK Bets will also be subject to the regular checks regarding age, identity and in line with responsible gambling requirements.
We’re going to show you exactly how to enjoy the welcome bonus from AK Bets, with our step-by-step instructions.
With this being a relatively new enterprise, focused on giving value to bettors through strong odds, we weren’t surprised to find that this bookie was short on regular promotions.
Here are the betting offers that we found during our AK Bets review.
Casino players can scoop daily rewards at AK’s Casino Club. On any day that you wager £50 or more, you will receive a guaranteed reward. The minimum reward is ten free spins.
Entering a bonus codes at a bookmaker can often be a complicated process. There can be several available if there are multiple welcome offers, with some bookies wanting the code to be entered during registration and some requiring it during the deposit process.
At AK Bets it couldn’t be simpler. The code AKACCA100 is automatically added for you during the registration process, so there is no risk of you forgetting to add this important piece of information.
It’s now the point of our review when we are going to take a deep dive into the various features that are available at AK Bets. Here’s what’s on offer.
Sports betting is the main attraction at AK Bets. With the Irish roots of this brand, it’s no surprise to see GAA sports covered. We were however a little shocked that there were no Esports markets, which are pretty common at betting sites these days.
Here is the full list of sports and events that were available to bet on when we conducted our review. Virtual betting was also available in a separate section.
There is a minimum stake of £20 if you’re using AK Bets’ telephone betting service, but this doesn’t apply when using the website.
AK Bets markets itself as being a bookmaker more willing to take on bigger bets from punters. There are however, maximum payout limits that apply to how much you can win on any single day. These limits differ depending on the sport that you’re betting on and the type of bet, ranging between £2000 to £100,000.
AK Bets has an In Play section with a dedicated tab at the top of the home page. Click on it and you will be able to see every live market that is currently available.
At busy times, the ability to filter through these events by sports is useful and the website makes this an easy task. A nice touch is the colour coding of the live odds, with pink prices indicating when odds are drifting out and blue showing when they’re shortening. We found that the odds were strong and there were a good range of markets available, that were updated promptly.
With AK Bets originating as an on course bookie, it won’t be a surprise to learn that horse racing is a major priority for them. They have live streaming of all UK and Ireland horse and greyhound racing, which is a show of intent for a new betting brand.
So far, there’s no live streaming of other sports and events available. At this stage of the AK Bets journey, that isn’t a huge surprise. For now, the live racing streaming is the important feature that they needed in place.
A selling point for AK Bets is the value of the odds and we found that they lived up to the hype. This is somewhat unusual for new betting sites and is perhaps a result of this brand deciding to invest in their core product, rather than promotions and bonuses.
As part of our review we checked in at an odds comparison site and found that AK Bets were more than competitive in comparison with long-established giants of the industry, often giving the best price. What we’d like to see from them at some point in the future is an AK Bets Best Odds Guaranteed promotion for horse racing and greyhounds.
It’s now the time in our AK Bets review to examine some of the extra features that are available at their site.
The Bet Builder feature at AK Bets is known as Build-a-Bet. It works in exactly the same way as any regular Bet Builder function, combining wagers from within a single event to create a same-game accumulator.
When we tried it out we were impressed with the amount of markets that were available to combine together, as some bookies limit the number somewhat. As you add selections, you can see how much you would win from a £1 bet.
AK Bets has a blog website dedicated to betting tips. It features expert advice from Tony Bullen on greyhound racing, Ronan Groome and Tony Calvin on horse racing, and Russ Bray on darts.
There is also a darts podcast called The Checkout, hosted by the Sky Sports presenter Emma Paton and featuring top players. It’s early days for this endeavour, but the level of signings and investment being made by AK Bets suggest that their tips website could become one of the best around.
As a relatively new online bookie it’s good to see that AK Bets have already got a Cash Out function in place. It’s another example of them investing in their product, in an effort to make their site a top option for punters.
Being offered a sum to end a bet early and bank a guaranteed profit, is a helpful tool for bettors when it comes to profitability. As is the case with most bookmakers, Cash Out is available on selected markets at AK Bets.
AK Bets are clearly trying to appeal to serious punters and their Phone-a-Bet service is a strong part of that offering. At a time when many online bookmakers have shut down these services, AK Bet enable you to phone them up to speak to an employee, who will place your bet for you.
Just call 03700 421321 from the UK, or 1800 844123 from Ireland to put on your bet. The minimum stake for this service is £20.
The star of the show here is the AK Bets live chat service ‘Trader Chat’. There are no bots here as you instantly get in contact with a helpful member of staff.
There’s also the option of emailing them, or getting in touch via their Twitter account. AK Bets has a Help & Support section which includes frequently asked questions regarding customer service issues.
While many new bookmakers fail to produce a betting app, AK Bets have provided one for their players, so they can bet on the go. Though you can always view a betting site through a mobile browser, we think that a dedicated app is an important feature, due to the extra convenience, speed and stability that they provide.
When viewed on a mobile through the app or a browser, the site essentially works the same way as on the desktop. The main difference is a menu that runs along the bottom of the screen, which makes finding everything you need, refreshingly easy.
AK Bets comes complete with an online casino feature live table play. Let’s take a closer look at what they have on offer.
In total there are nearly 600 slots and table games available at AK Bets. That’s a lot, but curated lists of games in various categories takes away the hard work.
There are plenty of drops and wins slots and megaways games to chose from. If you’re more of a table game player, then you’ll find blackjack, baccarat and roulette options.
There’s no poker section at AK Bets. That’s not particularly unusual, with it generally being only the bigger, more established bookmakers that provide such a service.
It would be nice if there was an option of playing video poker at the casino. Hopefully that could be a future addition to the site.
We found the live casino had lots of tables. Again, there are curated sections that allow you to filter through the various games available, along with a Netflix style menu system.
You can see how many people are currently playing on any of the tables, with a good range of staking options that cover everyone from the casual gambler to the high rollers. There’s blackjack, roulette, Asian games, baccarat, gameshows, speed games and drops and wins, all presented by real dealers, to give an authentic casino feel.
There is a limited range of payment methods available at AK Bets. Traditional methods such as debit cards, bank transfers and cheque are options, but there’s no ability to use e-wallets or crypto, as is the case with other betting sites.
This is an obvious area where AK Bets can improve their service and hopefully they will add to their options as their business grows. Here’s what’s currently available.
Payment Method | Minimum Deposit | Maximum Deposit | Processing Time |
Debit Cards | £10 | N/A | 2-5 working days |
Bank Transfer | £10 | N/A | 2-5 working days |
Cheque | £10 | N/A | N/A |
We found that withdrawal times were really fast and often much quicker than the advertised processing time of 2-5 working days.
At the moment it’s just debit cards or bank transfer withdrawals that are available. A greater range of options benefits punters, because of the speed of withdrawals made via e-wallet and cryptocurrencies.
Fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, they ensure AK Bets operate in a safe and responsible manner. Any disputes can go to IBAS, the independent adjudicator between punters and betting sites.
The AK Bets website also has links to a number of responsible gambling organisations such as Gamcare, Gamstop, Extern Problem Gambling and Gamble Aware.
There is a lot to like about this fresh brand on the betting block. Rather than trying to entice new customers with new promotions, they are instead trying to build a really strong core product.
This would seem to be the right priority and gradually AK Bets are strengthening their offering, by adding new features. The tips site looks especially promising and suggest that this is a betting brand, focused on providing value for punters in every way.

“Better Than I Thought”
Recognised the name from Cheltenham betting kiosks a few years ago so decided to give them a try. Despite being called AK Bets, they haven't blown me away yet. But they allow me to get some small bets down on the horses so that's fine.
