ProgressPlay definitely falls into the latter category. BetStorm UK itself is one of the newer ProgressPlay brands, having only launched in 2021. It is based in Malta, like its parent company, and holds betting licenses in multiple jurisdictions.
Is BetStorm Safe?
Safety should always be at the forefront of your mind when seeking out a new sports betting site. After all, when you’re technically risking both your personal information and money, you want to feel sure that both are being looked after.
In our research for this BetStorm review, we were actually impressed with the clear focus there is on player safety. BetStorm UK is pleasingly up front in describing its security features, which include SSL and a strong firewall. It also uses world-renowned payment operators which facilitate secure payments, and has anti-fraud measures in place too.
Elsewhere, BetStorm UK holds licenses with both the UK Gambling Commission and Malta Gaming Authority. This combination reassures bettors that they’re gambling with a legitimate and fair sportsbook – something which ProgressPlay’s track record only helps to confirm.

The BetStorm sign up offer is a classic ‘Bet X, Get Y’ deal, like most of those you’ll find in the UK. Specifically, you’re asked to place a £10 qualifying wager in order to trigger it. In return, you’ll be given a £30 free bet. The value here is technically fine, with your initial spending power – if you only deposit and wager the minimum amount – being automatically doubled. BetStorm Sportsbook Review 2024
We’ve kicked off this BetStorm review in style, by diving into several of the key areas in which any prospective punter would be interested – particularly the safety features of the brand, and its welcome offer.
Now though, it’s time to get more in-depth in this BetStorm.com review. Let’s see how the sportsbook stands up when it comes to user-friendliness, live betting, and more.
- Site Functionality
We’re big believers in the importance of a top-notch user interface. After all, if you’re going to be using the same brand for months on end, you want to be enjoying a smooth and intuitive experience as you do so.
In general, we found this site easy enough to use during our testing for this BetStorm sportsbook review. The site doesn’t create the best first impression, with its dull colour scheme and cluttered appearance. Within a couple of minutes though, you’ll be finding your way around with ease. Navigating the available markets is simple, particularly thanks to a handy search function, as is accessing and using the account management tools.
Importantly, we also found the platform to perform well throughout our BetStorm review. Pages loaded very quickly indeed, and there were no annoying crashes to contend with.
- Live Betting Tools
Live betting is obviously crucial nowadays, giving the modern-day punter a completely different and potentially lucrative way to gamble. We’re happy to say the live betting tools are excellent here, and represent an early highlight in our BetStorm sportsbook review.
You can access the live betting markets at any time via an ever-present menu to the left of your screen. Subsequently placing a wager is extremely quick and easy, as is cashing one out. In a neat touch, you can actually see exactly which markets will be eligible for cashing out before you place any wagers, courtesy of a small dollar icon next to that bet type.
- Other Features
ProgressPlay sportsbooks aren’t usually blessed with premium features, and so it proved in this BetStorm sportsbook review. There’s no live streaming available, for example, nor is there even a mobile app in place.
That said, the cupboard isn’t completely bare here. We particularly enjoyed the flexibility of the interface generated by the inclusion of ‘Multiview’ and ‘Overview’ features. These let you decide exactly which in-play matchups you want to keep an eye on, rather than basically being forced to choose between ‘one’ and ‘loads’. Elsewhere, while there isn’t technically a ‘bet builder’, you will find a small chain icon next to all bet types which are eligible to be combined.
- Betting Odds
We’ll tackle this area in more detail very shortly, in the next section of our BetStorm review. For now, simply know that we have indeed assessed and analysed the BetStorm sports betting odds. And, in general – while they’re not exactly the best around – they’re certainly acceptable.
- Customer Service
This is another crucial area which we’ll investigate more closely later in this Bet Storm review. ProgressPlay brands do tend to feature high quality customer service, however, and we’re pleased to say this is also the case with the BetStorm sports betting site.
BetStorm Free Bet Offers
We’ve already looked at the BetStorm welcome offer, and will do so again in more detail later on in this Bet Storm review. Even after that initial deal is used up, however, there are still other ways to gain a BetStorm bonus.
The main way to gain a BetStorm free bet is via the loyalty scheme, here called the ‘Rewards Programme’. As is usually the case, you’ll gain points for this the more you wager. Once you’ve got enough points, you can cash them in for either a BetStorm bonus, or other prizes like cashback deals and free spins for the casino.
Another great way to gain a BetStorm bonus is via the Wager Wars competitive leaderboard. Place within the top five bettors on the entire platform within a given time frame, and you can take home up to a £150 prize. Better still, this will be paid in cash rather than free bets.
Finally, there are also a couple of cashback deals you can take advantage of. These apply specifically to tennis and F1 markets, with each BetStorm UK offer giving you a rebate worth 10% of your losses, in cash, for up to £500.
BetStorm Odds and Value
When considering whether or not to sign up to a new sportsbook, you should always check out the quality of the betting odds it provides. They don’t literally need to be the very best prices around, since other factors – like ease of use, special features, and variety of betting markets – are all important too. They simply must be fair, since – if they’re prohibitively low – there will always be a cap on your profits.
In our BetStorm review, we find a bookie which has steady if unspectacular odds. At the time of writing, for example, we’re heading into a fresh round of the Champions League group stage. The odds in just about all the matchups are right around those on BetUK and 888sport – two of BetStorm’s competitors on the UK market. In no cases are they noticeably higher, but nor are they significantly lower.
Elsewhere, we were pleased to note that the prices on Bet Storm change very frequently indeed to reflect the latest betting action. This is easily distinguishable, via green and red arrows, and might help you to grab some value if you time your wager right.
BetStorm Sports Betting Markets
This is an undoubted highpoint in our BetStorm review, and we’d assume the same applies to all BetStorm reviews. The market selection here is absolutely fantastic, with a huge range of options which should keep you entertained indefinitely. Below, we’ve broken those BetStorm sports betting options down into three key areas.
Football
Football is the biggest online betting sport in the UK, and – unsurprisingly, therefore – is also the focus for most sportsbooks. This is certainly the case for BetStorm too. The football section here had over 1,200 upcoming matchups to bet on at the time of writing. The next closest, by comparison, was tennis with around 420.
Within those matchups, you’ll find competitions covered from all around the world. The variety in bet types available for the bigger matches is incredibly impressive, with a typical Champions League game – for example – having over 530 individual betting opportunities. While this number drops dramatically in-play, you’re still given a nice amount of options, in addition to fair odds.
Horse Racing
It might not be close to challenging football’s dominance, for online betting at least, but horse racing is still easily the second-most popular market with British bettors. As such, it should also be a major consideration for UK bookies.
We did find a horse racing section during our testing for this BetStorm review, but it’s hardly the most impressive we’ve seen. There are no racecourses in the UK or Ireland to bet on. Instead, you’re limited solely to events in the USA. Technically, that still gives you the chance to wager on 12 different courses, amounting to dozens of races most days. We’d still prefer to see this selection expanded sooner rather than later, though.
Other
Backing up the two massive markets mentioned above, Bet Storm has a vast range of others sports you can bet on. In total we counted over 40 different options, which is even more than you’d get from many of the biggest bookies around.
Naturally the likes of tennis, golf, cricket, and rugby are all covered, as are the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL. There are plenty of eSports markets too – including Dota 2 and LoL – and a few different motorsports to wager on, along with the UFC. Rounding out the selection nicely are a few more niche markets, including water polo, kabaddi, and – impressively – sumo wrestling.

As noted earlier, when it comes to getting a BetStorm bonus, you’ve got a few different options. The welcome offer provides the biggest bonus, but the ongoing promotions are certainly nothing to sneeze at.
Unusually for a modern-day sportsbook, Bet Storm actually does use promo codes for all of its ongoing promotions. How to Get Started With BetStorm
We found BetStorm extremely easy to use during our testing, and we’d be surprised if most BetStorm reviews didn’t say the same. This applies right from the very beginning, with these being the few simple steps you must take to get started on Bet Storm.
Step 1 – Create a BetStorm Login
To get the ball rolling, head to the BetStorm home page and click the green Join Now button in the top-right. Now simply provide your email address and phone number, and set a password. Once you’ve done this, click Submit. On the second page, you’ll need to provide more personal details, including your name and date of birth. Just click Submit again afterwards, and your account will be created for you.
Step 2 – Make a Deposit
Use your BetStorm login details to access your new account, then hit the Cashier button along the top menu. Select Deposit from your options on the left, then pick one of the methods with which you’re presented. Provide the requisite payment information, enter a monetary amount, and click Deposit to confirm your payment.
Step 3 – Place Wagers

BetStorm hasn’t quite capitalised on the opportunity this presents for sportsbooks. Most importantly, at the time of writing, there is no downloadable BetStorm mobile app available. While this is common to all ProgressPlay brands, it is still somewhat disappointing, and puts BetStorm behind many of its competitors.
In lieu of an actual BetStorm mobile app, however, you are able to simply use the mobile version of the main website. This is actually very good indeed, and serves as an able substitute. All the same markets, offers, and account management tools have been carried over, meaning the functionality is exactly the same as the desktop platform. The interface has also been skilfully-adapted to the smaller screen size, and – during our testing for this BetStorm review – we found the performance levels to be high.

We already provided the details of the sign up deal earlier in this BetStorm review. Now though, it’s time to get into the mechanics of how to actually claim the BetStorm welcome offer. Like most things on this platform, we’re pleased to say it’s very easy to do so, with these being the few steps you must take:

In general, when it comes to payment methods, we view it as a case of ‘the more, the better’. Using this simple metric, we were fairly impressed with what we found during our research for this BetStorm review.
There are a respectable eight different ways in which you can fund your BetStorm account. Visa / Mastercard and Trustly (for bank transfers) cover the traditional routes. You can then use PayPal, ecoPayz, MuchBetter or Apple Pay eWallets, the Paysafecard prepaid card, or PayviaPhone. All deposits are processed instantly, and the minimum amounts are fair.
Strangely, when it comes to withdrawals, you have just two options: Visa / Mastercard and ecoPayz. Like almost all gambling brands, there’s both a sportsbook and casino available on this platform. No BetStorm review, therefore, would be complete without also including a BetStorm casino review.
The BetStorm casino is highly respectable in its own right. All the usual subsections are in place, including slots, table games, live dealer titles, jackpots, and casual games. These can easily be navigated via either the search tool, or by game provider. Most importantly, the slot selection is very good indeed (including the likes of Book of Dead and Fishin’ Frenzy), while the table games area includes blackjack, roulette, and so on.

BetStorm Review – Final Verdict
If you’ve used a ProgressPlay brand before, you’ll have a good idea what to expect here. If not, then – as you can tell from our BetStorm review – this is generally an impressive sportsbook, albeit with a couple of weaknesses.
For starters, BetStorm genuinely boasts one of the best selection of betting markets around. The interface is also user-friendly, there are a decent number of ongoing promotions, and the customer service is excellent.
The lack of special features – such as live streaming or a mobile app – will put some punters off, as will the annoying transaction fee for withdrawals. Overall though, throughout our time on this BetStorm review, we felt the good far outweighed the bad.
