Analysts at FairBettingSites have scraped the social media profiles of the top 10 English ex-player pundits currently commentating on the Euros. To find which pundit has been the most negative online towards the England team.
The scrutiny of pundits’ comments has sparked backlash from several England players, including Declan Rice and Harry Kane, who have voiced their frustration with the criticism directed at their performances.
According to the data, Shearer tops the list of pundits with the highest percentage of negative comments (86%) about the England team.
Shearer’s critiques have often focused on the team’s unbalanced nature and lack of creativity in forward areas. His comments have resonated widely, given his prominent role and extensive following on social media platforms.
Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara is ranked the second most negative pundit (80%), with fellow talkSPORT personality Jason Cundy ranked fifth (67%).
Other notable pundits such as Gary Neville, Gary Lineker, and Micah Richards have also been part of the analysis. While they have provided a mix of praise and criticism, Shearer’s commentary has been markedly more negative.

Methodology
To determine which English ex-footballer pundit has been the most negative towards the England team at the Euros, we scraped each pundit’s social media accounts, including Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube.
We then classified their commentary on England as either negative or positive, resulting in a total percentage of positive and negative quotes from each pundit.
