Although horse racing betting dominates here, but it’s not all we were interested in exploring. As such, a fair portion of the time invested in this Tote review was on the site’s other sports betting options. There are 29 different sports to bet on here, at the time of writing.

Sports You Can Bet On

You might have heard of Tote horse racing before or may even been tempted by Tote pools. These days, the site has a dedicated sports section that includes everything from international cricket and Premier League football betting markets for NASCAR, weightlifting, and badminton.

Searching for “greyhounds” on the Tote sports section returns nothing. But we did find greyhound pool racing odds available under the “Racing” section. To clarify, we read some other Totesport reviews that mentioned no greyhound betting but this is not the case.

Betting Limits

Tote minimum bets vary according to both bet types and markets. We played around with some of the various bets available on Tote Sports as part of our Tote review and found the minimum comes in around 50p for most racing and sports wagers.

Some single-leg bets, however, have higher minimum bets. Maximum bets also vary according to markets, as do the amounts you can place on Tote placepots or Tote swinger bets. With no maximum bet published on their site, it’s best to query customer service if you are unsure about minimum/maximum wagers.

Live Betting

You can find a link to the “In-Play” section under the “Home” button located on the upper left of the site. As part of our Tote bet review, we placed several live Tote bets to get a feel for the interface – it’s pretty quick and responsive but is very basic. Also, be aware that the bookie separates live betting on sports and live racing under their respective tabs.

You’ll find all the live Tote place and win bets available to wager on under this subsection. At the time of writing, there were several Olympic games markets, as well as some for tennis, football, basketball, and cricket. To find the live horse racing betting section, you must click on “Racing” next to the sports section.

Live Streaming

You can watch some of your Tote bets play out in real time via the live streaming function on the site. Whether you’re betting on Tote Swinger bets or the Tote Quadpot, all available horse racing is covered.

We didn’t find any live streams for sports other than racing, which was somewhat disappointing. But on a positive note, Tote Live TV allows you to stream races without placing a bet. Instead, you just need to have made one deposit into your account.

Tote Dividends & Odds

There are several multi-leg and single-leg bets you can place at the Tote. Perhaps the most popular is the Tote Placepot, which can be played from 4 pm on the day before UK and Irish meetings. Like all pool betting odds on the site, it pays out in dividends that are not known in advance.

The average payout was £466 in 2023 which is great and represents a chance to win big on smaller stakes.  Furthermore, the Tote Quadpot and Tote Jackpot – which can pay tens of thousands for picking the winner of the first six races at a selected meeting every day – are also worth looking at.

Where sports betting odds are concerned, Tote has some decent prices. What we found on football wasn’t great but was far from poor. Market selection leaves something to be desired, especially where boxing and rugby union are concerned.

Tote Casino Review

Tote Games is the official name of the Tote Casino. With 516 games at the time of writing, it’s not the largest of its type online. With that said, it should appeal to fans of slot games – which make up the bulk of its library – and video table games like roulette and blackjack.

We started our Tote review of the casino by sampling some of their 450+ slot games. While this is a solid number, we are more impressed by the quality of the titles available. Some of our favourite games were Gold Megaways, Gold Cash Big Spins, Crabbin’ for Cash Megaways, Rock the Reels, Megaways Lucky Lamp, and John Hunter and the Tomb of the Scarab – there are also 10 jackpot slots, but we didn’t try any.

Casino software providers like Blueprint, IGT, Microgaming, Pragmatic Play, and Evolution Gaming feature. There are also a few variants of roulette and video poker from creative developers and boutique software companies like Amatic and Red Tiger Gaming.

Live Casino Options

We found no live casino games to mention in our Tote betting review. This means that players are restricted to Tote casino games like slots and video roulette. If you are a fan of live dealer casino titles, you must look elsewhere to play them.

Payment Methods for Betting on the Tote

The only banking methods currently accepted at the Tote are debit cards. While not brilliant by any means, we appreciate that most people have a debit card. But if you don’t have a debit card, you can’t bet on the Tote.

We would like to see a little more variety in the banking methods the Tote bookmakers currently offer. However, we are fans of the low minimum deposit and instant processing times when funding your account.

What are Withdrawals Time Like When You Bet on the Tote?

Information found on the tote.co.uk website states that it takes between 1-5 days to receive a payout. To test this for ourselves, our experts entered their Tote login details and requested a withdrawal for £25. We received our funds within a couple of hours, putting it up there with other fast withdrawal betting sites online.

It’s worth noting that the speed of withdrawals depends on your card issuer’s processing times.
